SiTS is an organization of students, professors, and professionals dedicated to fostering interest in technical fields, the development of crucial skills not taught in the classroom, and networking with peers. Specifically, we offer outreach and education not only for current students in computer science and engineering, but also for new students and those in other majors looking to improve their technical skills and possibly even become more involved with technical fields of studies. We also have plans for assisting faculty members across campus to get more involved with technology in and out of the classroom. SiTS offers several presentations in weekly meetings with hands-on demos and projects with technologies such as drones, Raspberry Pis, and Arduinos lined up for talks already. These certifications are being officially integrated into the University of Iowa Merit Pages system, allowing students to bolster their resume while they are bolstering their technical tool kit.
